About Us Members

Hi! I'd like to thank all of you who have joined my humble little community. We're less than two weeks old and we already have 43 members and 7 supporters, with 18 deviations. What an excellent start!

Community Spirit Awards

One of the purposes of this group is to increase exposure for the members, and build a real community. One of the things that will accomplish this is commenting on the deviations submitted to the group. In order to provide incentive for this, I present the Community Service Award.

The award goes to whichever member has given the most comments since the last one was awarded. Whoever gives the most comments will have their most recent submission selected as the featured deviation for two weeks. Two weeks later, all the comments from the previous weeks will be counted, and a new award will be given.

Our first winner is ~Narien! Congrats to her for truly contributing.

Admin Info

The admin positions are STILL OPEN.

As of now, I am simply creating a list of anyone and everyone who has an interest in the position(s). When I get enough candidates, I will announce that the position is closed, and send out a small questionnaire to all the possible admins. From there, I will pick from two to four people to help run the group.

So far, fourteen people have expressed interest. These people are:

A few have asked questions as to what exactly the admins would do.

All admins will help in the everyday issues such as adding members, posting deviations, and so on. Admins should be ready to answer any questions a member might have. It is tedious but necessary, and we all muct do our part.

Admins would also make key decisions for the group. They would decide things such as what contests to run, what sort of features to have, et cetera. If, sometime in the future, we need even more admins, our current ones would decide who to accept. Admins will also serve as tiebreakers if any of the contests end in ties. After the admins are shosen, it will be easier to delegate specific duties.

Basically, admins do the little daily things to keep the group running smoothly, but from time to time, when bigger issues crop up, the admins have the final say. They are basically the government of the group.

Some Clarifications

The Submission Process: Two clarifications here. First, you may also submit by note, as opposed to e-mail, but only if your submission has no html in it. Any submissions with bold or italic text, or any other html, MUST be e-mailed in.

Second, please include a link to your deviation in the submission. Most of you do already, but since this wan't in the original instructions, I am clarifying it to make sure everyone knows.

Membership: Remember, to be comsidered a member you must both add us to your devwatch, and send a note saying that you are joining. If you only add us to your devwatch, I will assume you are just a supporter.

Other

The first lesson should be here very soon - Sunday at the latest. It will be on parts of speech, and while most of you probably have a basic grasp on this, if you don't know what participles and gerunds are, it will still be worth your while!
